On October 26, Himalaya International School hosted a memorable celebration of Diwali, which coincided with the annual Hostel Day. The event was filled with joy, vibrant colors, and cultural performances that captivated everyone present. Hostel students prepared a variety of presentations to entertain and impress their parents, making it a day filled with warmth and excitement.
The event began with a series of mesmerizing instrumental performances, where students showcased their unique musical talents, creating an atmosphere of harmony and excitement. The ceremonial lamp-lighting ceremony, led by the school’s esteemed leaders — Chairman Mr. Sunil Dora, Mrs. Honey Dora, Director Mr. Aditya Dora, Academic Director Mr. H.S. Khalsa, Principal Mrs. Sonal Bhatt, young Director Mr. Dhananjay Dora, Himalaya Kids Principal Mrs. Vini Haque, HM Mrs. Prachi Kapoor, and Chief Warden Mr. Arvind Singh — officially opened the celebration. Together, they invoked the blessings of Goddess Saraswati to mark the beginning of the festivities.
The event unfolded with a beautiful Ganesh Vandana, a traditional dance dedicated to Lord Ganesha, setting a sacred tone. Following this, a series of exciting performances took center stage, including South Indian dance, hip-hop, Tandav, Bhangra, and Hindi and English dramas. Additionally, sports-themed dances added a lively and energetic touch. Each act was met with cheers and applause from parents, who were delighted to witness the students’ enthusiasm and talent.
